The Continuing Education Center (CEC) at Tishk International University (TIU) organized an Arabic Language Course focused on the Iraqi Arabic dialect in Erbil. The course was designed to help learners develop practical Arabic communication skills and become more confident in understanding and speaking the Arabic language in everyday situations.
The course focused particularly on Iraqi Arabic, providing learners with opportunities to practice commonly used expressions, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational structures used in daily communication in Iraq. Through interactive lessons and speaking practice, participants were encouraged to use Arabic naturally and effectively in real-life situations.
The course was taught by Ms. Zine Sherwan, an experienced Arabic language instructor at the Continuing Education Center. The course lasted for six weeks, from 5 July 2026 to 15 August 2026, and included approximately 50 hours of instruction. Classes were conducted three days per week, with three lessons per day, allowing participants to receive regular practice and build their communication skills progressively.
Objectives of the Course
The Arabic Language Course aimed to:
- Develop participants’ practical Arabic communication skills.
- Focus on the Iraqi Arabic dialect used in everyday communication.
- Improve speaking, listening, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
- Introduce commonly used Iraqi Arabic expressions and phrases.
- Help learners communicate more confidently in daily and social situations.
- Provide an interactive learning environment for practicing spoken Arabic.
